The show compilates protestsongs, telling the story of the empowerment song has given over the years. Accompanied by a small band, Izaline and Leoni interpret the songs that gave people hope and made them fight for their rights. Barricade is a reprise of last year and plays in Dutch theatres all over the country. Check the schedule for dates and venues. Izaline tours Surinam 14-07-’15  In August, Izaline travels to Surinam to bring her theatre show ‘Geen Liefde Zonder Vrijheid’. Izaline performs the part of Mosa Nena, the femme fatal of the slaves from the famous Antillean song. Counterpart ‘Buchi Fil’ is played by Jörgen Raymann. They are accompanied by a group of musicians, including a Dutch string quartet. A Delightful Summernight 10-06-’15  On July 13, Izaline played The Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam in the series Robeco Summernights. Lineup was completed with Marc Bischoff on piano. The program, called ‘Dudok meets Calister’ crosses the musical borders between southamerican rhythms and European chambermusic. Especially for this accasion, they put together an exciting program, called ‘Dudok meets Calister’. They will cross the musical borders between southamerican rhythms and European chambermusic for instance with works of Fauré, Ravell, Cabral, Astor Piazzolla and Mercedes Sosa. It is part of the ‘Internationaal Kamermuziek Festival’ in Utrecht, hosted by classical violinist Janine Jansen. For info and reservations, I+R. Playing her hometown 13-06-’15  For years and years the city of Groningen hosts the biggest free jazzfestival in the Netherlands, called ‘Swingin Groningen’. This year, Izaline was invited to sing on the festival accompanied by the best local big band, the Stageband Jazz Orchestra. Izaline Calister with The Stageband Jazz Orchestra. Groningen, 13 June 2015 A Night at the Club 22-01-’15  These months, Izaline tours with ‘New York Round Midnight’, a concertseries with the music of the famous Broadway-nightclubs in the late fifties and early sixties. A ten-piece band is accompanying her on this trip to the glorydays of swing and bebop. Sitting in in the band are Peter Beets (piano), Ben van den Dungen (tenor saxophone) and singer Paul van Kessel. The pieces of Miles Davis, Dave Brubeck, Count Basie, Oscar Peterson, Art Blakey and others are introduced by jazz-reporter Koen Schouten. The tour visits theaters and venues in The Netherlands. Check schedule. BARRICADE-tour 2014-2015 cancelled! 12-01-’15  Very much to the regrets of everybody involved, the Barricade tour 2014-2015 had to be cancelled due to personal circumstances. A re-run is planned though, for next season 2015-2016. Keep you posted.
